Has there ever been a futuristic science fiction movie in which people were shown dancing where they either: A) simply danced essentially exactly the way we do now or B) looked utterly and completely idiotic. I would raise the same question about "primitive" dances, like tribal dances and dancing girls and stuff like that but, while almost all of them have been idiotic, there are a few movies where I think it works. On other other hand, I can't think of a single movie where the filmmakers have attempted to invent a "future people" dance that hasn't been worthy of a spit take.
