Welcome..

Well, i am doing a small research about the differences of writing styles between genders and I am interested in the themes that boys and girls like to write about. So, what do you like to write about and why? Just write your gender and a theme, an idea or a topic that you like and why.

I would be happy if you help me here...

Re: Is it a he or a she?

Hi nona the brit,

Thanks for a most helpful link. I couldn't help trying the "Gender Guesser" at http://www.hackerfactor.com/GenderGuesser.html#Analyze. What I found interesting was that all speeches given by and messages written for H.M. The Queen, which I had access to, tested "male". On the other hand, texts written by a male friend of mine tested "female" notwithstanding the fact that his writing style is what most of us would describe as "extremely male". The Gender Guesser could very well be 70 per cent accurate (I believe the researchers investigated this in much more detail than I just did), but it is by no means foolproof.

What is in my mind, with my question, is wondering whether someone could successfully impersonate a person of the opposite gender, via their writing style and what they write.

I think so. Nowadays, nothing seems to be impossible. one could successfully impersonate 1 person in whatever ways.

even the looks.

Are you male or female?

Hi everyone,

I've read opinions that the internet has a lot of role-playing and deception, both innocent and otherwise. Just because someone indicates they are male or female on this or any other forum, does that mean that they are? Some people like to have their little games.

What is in my mind, with my question, is wondering whether someone could successfully impersonate a person of the opposite gender, via their writing style and what they write.

What do you think? I'd be interested in your opinion about this, or perhaps you have had a 'misleading' experience of this type that you'd like to share.

Alternatively, if you want to have a little interactive fun, post something in this thread that you think is masculine or feminine, and we can all see if we can guess what your true gender is. Can you fool all of us?

Best wishes, Clive

Re: meaning

Hi,
