I know that first paragraph is fine so I would like to ask you to check the middle part which is below.

Recently, I decided to increase my knowledge of payroll and become familiar with current payroll legislation. As you will see from my CV, I am expecting the results of my exam and certificate from Pitman Training. During the course I learned how to calculate gross/net pay, holiday payments and deductions, national insurance contributions, all statutory payments. I am confident with processing monthly and weekly payroll including general data input, starters, leavers, processing P45, P46, P11, P11D, P60 forms, issuing electronic timesheets, pay reviews and reports, checking and inputting tax code changes. I am familiar with manual as well as with computerised payroll (Sage Payroll). I hope you will agree that this is a sound background for an entry level Payroll Clerk.

I have enclosed my CV for your review. Please call me at the contact number given so that we can discuss how my qualification can be of benefit to your company. I look forward to hearing from you and am available for interview at your convenience.

Thank you for considering my application.

Yours faithfully,
AA

Re: Letter of Recommendation

Your letter is just fine. There are only a very few edits.

Dear Sir or Madam, -- Do you not have the name of the person you should address this to?
I am writing this letter to recommend [NAME] for admission to your Study Abroad Program.

I have known Mr. [NAME] for two years as a student of [PROGRAM] at the University of [CITY], [COUNTRY], and he has always shown a strong interest in our program. Personally, I taught him Project Management and Introduction to ERP-Systems and this gave me the chance to gain insight into his abilities and traits.

He is an ambitious student and has improved his skills steadily. I can attest that his performance has been consistently good and he has always behaved responsibly. Also, he is systematic and organized at work and has shown a predilection for applied economics.

As for his personal qualities, Mr. [NAME] is a well-disciplined, industrious student with a pleasant personality. He has always been a very open and respectful student who demonstrates a great capacity for integration into university life.

For all these reasons, I highly recommend this candidate to you. Furthermore, I believe that your program will provide him with valuable experience, helping him to improve his English level, and deepen his understanding of foreign cultures and values.

Should you need further information, please feel free to contact me at the address above.

Yours faithfully,

My only other comment is that "systematic and organized" seems to be part of "well-disciplined" so it seems redundant in the paragraph above, but there's no grammatical problem.

I am writing to you in connection with your Master's [?Please check Leiden's website] Program in
International Relations and Diplomacy starting 2008, for which I would
like to apply.

I graduated with a bachelor's degree in International Relations in
2005 from Padjadjaran University, Bandung, Indonesia. Since my goal is
to become a diplomat and to deal with issues associated with international relations, I intend to pursue a master's degree in that field.

The emphasis of my studies to date has been the fundamental
principles of international relations. I have also studied diplomacy and negotiation, foreign policy analysis, and issues of international relations, such as gender studies in world
politics. All these have enhanced my understanding of world events, their impacts (especially on my own country) and how to approach them.

P

I am eager to participate in your program, and I believe
that my education and working experience offer sufficient background for matriculation towards your master’s degree. Please find enclosed a copy of
my curriculum vitae with additional information about my
qualifications.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to hearing from you.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction with your delivery service for the ‘Hendrix Junior’ guitar that I bought from you on 7th July. What I found in the package was a big shock to me -- the guitar neck was completely scratched and the strings were completely broken into small pieces.

Considering that it probably happened during the course of delivery, I would be grateful if you could send me another guitar in good conditions. Then I can send the broken item back to you ( on a date at your choosing. ) I think words in the brackets are not necessary. Otherwise, I have no choice but ask for a refund on the guitar and the delivery service.

I made some correction in your letter that looked strange to me. But you should know that I'm not a native speaker or teacher, so it maybe wrong.

Anonymous wrote:

I am writing this letter to let you know I am really interested in the Erasmus Programme.

I am currently attending the first year of the Linguistic and Cultural Mediation (applied at economics, law and society) (I would leave this out ) Degree (what kind of degree bacherlor, master?) Programme at the University of Milan. I have decided to apply for this programme because I am strongly interested in knowing a new reality (what do you mean with this?), a different style of living, and I think that it offers even more than cultural delights and entertainment. I am sure that it will be both a personal and acadamic enrichment. (personal because? and I would leave academic out because you say something about it at the next paragraph.

Having looked through the materials of the Erasmus Student Network, I was delighted to find the oppurtunity of studying linguistics and humanities at the University of Cardiff for one semester. Why I've chosen Cardiff as my preferred destination, is that i would love to get in touch with British culture. Despite I have been studying English as second language at the University, I have never had the chance of being in the United Kingdom in my student career (this sounds a little bit strange maybe you could say it in another way or leave it out), and I think it is a heavy deficiency in my linguistic and personal competence. Another reason for choosing Cardiff is that I was impressed by its modules system of study. Many of the subjects offered are not considered in such a great way (sounds also strange, I would write something like: very important at my University. For instance, there is not a School completely dedicated to Cultural Studies, as in Cardiff there is. I am fascinated by the wide range of topics and modules that the Centre for Language and Communication Research offers, and by the Schools of both "Journalism, Media and Cultural Studies" and "English, Communication and Philosophy" (why are you fascinated?) . Furthermore, I'm curious and enthusiastic about the possibility of studying English and Cultural Studies in United Kingdom, the cradle of Cultural Studies.

Spending one semester at the University of Cardiff will mean improving my English language abilities and culture knowledge in the inspiring, creative and cosmopolite environment of one of the most dynamic British universities.

Thank you for considering my request. I look forward to your positive response.

Yours Faithfully,

Instead of just listing duties try to think about the qualities an employer wants and how you can prove that you have them. Think about selling your abilities. Advertising/marketing is very difficult to get into with a great deal of competition for entry level jobs - you have to make your CV sit up and bite them so it stands out from the other hundreds they will receive. Make sure you tailor it more for advertising. At the moment your only mention of advertising is a couple of words under interests. It needs to shine through as your future career. Talk about your career intentions - why advertising, what can you offer an advertising company. How can your photography and design experience help? Make the most of any work or college experience that is relevant to advertising and minimise any detail about the rest.

Work Experience

2002-present Working as an amateur photographer. - you can't work as an amateur. Why not say working as a freelance photographer or 'building my portolio'

            Main achievements:

- portfolios. - this isn't an achievement in itself. Expand a bit. Building a commercial portfolio, building a fashion photography portfolio, etc...

- photo session for a shop “World of clasp”.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I enclose my curriculum vitae in response to your advertisement in jobs.pl, ref. 1-12-4321. I would like to apply for the position of advertising assistant at your company.

If your company would benefit from an enthusiastic person, with more than one year of experience in accounting, manage staff problems and understanding company structures. If so, we should talk. - I don't think any of those are that important to advertising assistant positions. You should be concentrating on your creative skills. Your financial skills are an added extra that could help you stand out - but you still need to prove that you have all the essential 'advertising' skills. Have another go at this letter, I've started making some corrections so you can see where your language problems are, but I don't think it'll get very far as it is. You just aren't applying for an 'advertising' job here.

The position interests me for several reasons. I have been interested in advertising since the beginning of my studies and would like to work in this field in future. While working on my bachelor of Administration (bachelor title: “Photography in advertising”), I gained a valuable knowledge of the technical and law aspects of advertising, and also <STRIKE>during studies</STRIKE> <STRIKE>I managed</STRIKE> to finished Photographic Academy. Currently I am studying International Business Economics issued by the University of Wales in Warsaw.

I have one year's experience in the finance of the companies Resorts Casino and <STRIKE>London</STRIKE> Tesco, where I had a chance to put into practice the knowledge I learned at university. As an accountant I was responsible for keeping accounting records correct and on time, analyzing financial statements, producing reports and input data on a computer system, so I became familiar with using any kind of Software. I also posted to a general ledger and generated monthly reports.

My knowledge and my skills however are not limited only to accounting area. I have proven ability to manage international training in management and organization skills.

I easily learn new things and I am open to new challenges. I am precise, dependable, hardworking and full of good attitude person, which in my opinion is very important in advertising. I enjoy working pressed for time. I am good at handling stress situations, where one has to act quickly and calmly. I am a creative, articulate person who finds it easy to communicate with others. I can work efficiently both in a team and individually.

I am strongly convinced that my background is in perfect line with you current needs and that I can apply my knowledge and skills to the position. My enclosed CV provides additional details about my background. Thank you for your consideration.

I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully

Grammar in formal letters

Hi everyone
