Classes that I engaged in included Internet Programming, Desktop Application Programming and Network Security. I like to work with the Linux environment, especially for firewall protection system. My professor Prof. Dr. Muliawati and my dean Ir. Rila Mandala, Ph.D have always encouraged me to pursue further study, and to my mind, I always pursue the dream, [not sure what you mean. Perhaps, and this is also a long-held ambition of mine.] I wish to earn a Master Degree in Computer Science, ~~even,~~ and in the longer term I intend to follow this up with a Ph.D. Therefore I know I must return to the academic world for my family, my research, my dedication to education and further my growth. [This sentence sounds strange in a motivation letter, and it isn't quite clear what you mean. You might want to omit it.]

I know my second opportunity came since I heard about Leeds University [not sure what you mean here. Perhaps, I was very interested to hear about the opportunities for further study available at Leeds University] from my classmate who is studying there. I spoke to my professors, my lecturers and my colleges about this opportunity of with [or offered by]your University. Leeds University is reputable [has a good/strong reputation] for its research facilities and computing resources. In addition, the information from website also gave me much interest in there [??]. I have applied for a scholarship and I believe Leeds University is the right choice for my Master of Computer Science.

Finally, I kindly [wrong word] want to indicate my request in order to be considered [I would like to be considered] for one of the scholarships ~~that is~~ provided offered by Leeds University. It is difficult for me to correctly interpret the meaning of "with" on a case-by-case basis.

"have [has] (+ a(n)) + adjective + noun"
Your helpful reply has taught me a renewed recognition of the significance that the preceding red formula carries. The reply specifies that "with" means "that have"; therefore, my understanding of the word "with" has deepened.

Hi - I'm not sure what situation your training report refers to - is it giving your new employer some feedback on your induction training? Some parts are rather difficult to understand. Anyway, I've tidied it up for you.

Dear Mr.

Thank you for giving me an opportunity to join your company.

The Pre-process training was very helpful and improved my communication and listening skills.

On day 1, we introduced ourselves with a game involving coming up with adjectives starting with the first letter of our name. (I think this is what you mean). This was interesting and helped us get acquainted with each other. We played some games to improve our vocabulary skills. Our trainer gave us a topic and tested our ability. He assessed us and gave us feedback.

On day 2, we learned email etiquette. We also learned about the 50 states, people and culture of the United States. We also worked on articles, nouns, adjectives and adverbs. We improved our grammar.

On the course, we also learned

1. How to visualize our thoughts.

2. How to think logically.

3. How to listen and obey orders.

4. How to behave in the corporate world.

Although I have eight months experience in email support, I learnt a lot.

I thank you again for this golden opportunity and I assure you that I will perform well in the process training.

I want to send a email to our Managing Director about training report. I havent sound knowlege in grammar. Please help. I tried below please correct errors if any,

I thank you for giving me an opportunity to join with you.

Pre-process training is very helpful to improve our communication and listening skills.

On the day 1, we introduced with and adjectives of the first letter of our name. This made interesting and we get acquainted each other. We played some games to improve our vocabulary skills. Our trainer gave us a topic and tested our ability. He assessed and gave us the feed back.

If you know the name of the person you are addressing - e.g. if you started the letter Dear Mr... then you should end the letter Yours sincerely,...

If you do not know the letter of the person you are addressing - e.g. if you started the letter Dear Sir or Madam or To Whom It May Concern, you should end the letter Yours Faithfully or Yours Truly.

It is possible to end the letter:

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Yours sincerely (or faithfully or truly),

[your name and signature]

"IÂ´ve found several choices:
a) I am looking forward to hearing you
b) I am looking forward to meeting you
c)Thanks in advance
d)Sincerely yours. "

Firstly - it is best to drop the personal pronoun "I" from this sentence in a formal letter and simply to use the construction shown above "Looking forward" instead of "I am looking forward" - The sentence under a) is not correct s it is missing the from - the sentence under b) is correct and could be used if you are certain you will be meeting the addressee (e.g. if it is an RSVP or something) - c) is not formal a more formal construction of this sentence would be 'Thank you in advance' and d) the word order should be switched - 'Yours sincerely' not 'Sincerely yours.'

response to P.D. - the sentence It is suppose that I have to write a letter is incorrect English the second is correct.

Dear Professor:

There seems to be two distinct types of English styles: Creative and Business/Professional. I have always excelled in creative writing; however, I falter when it comes to writing business-like and professionally. For some reason, I just canât get to the point. Also, in the creative writing realm, one can often duck-and-dodge the rules of grammar and composition and still tell an interesting story or get their point across. In the business world, such avoidance of grammar and punctuation rules can be detrimental to oneâs career. It does seem highly unlikely for one to obtain a career without a firm grasp of the fundamentals of English grammar and composition. This notion is what prompted me to want to take your course. I want to have a career one day, preferably Human Resources Management; however, in order for me to acquire such a career I need to be able to communicate effectively. I am positive that this class will be quite instrumental in making my goals and dreams a reality. Equally important is the fact that you really bring the material to life. Your ability to combine humor into your lectures is a sight rarely seen in todayâs educational institutions.

I think my present communication skills are fair. I have a natural ability to make my words sound pretty and poetic by using my ten point words. Trepidation is an example of one of my ten point words. In the past I have found myself using the word as an adjective instead of a noun. My speaking skills, on the other hand, oscillate between very articulate to a babbling mess. I guess that depends on the kind of day I am having or the amount of sleep I had the night before.

Currently, I am not employed; however, I do not foresee this as a permanent issue. Once I graduate with a degree in Human Resources Management in hand, I am positive that my one-in-a-million personality will be that extra incentive employers are always looking for in potential employees. I also have a solid professional background in Front Office Operations and Management that will compliment my degree.

I am not very active; therefore, my activities are limited to watching movies with friends and spending hours in front of the mirror trying to make my hair perfect. Believe me, that last activity is a constant work in progress.

The letter is basically fine, Raymonde. It is a little over-formal, actually, to the extent that it has no humanity, so I have suggested a couple of personal pronouns below, a tense change, and changes in or the loss of a few words. Also, two spaces after a period is recommended:

We were extremely pleased to receive your letter advising us that you would consider resubmission of our manuscript once the areas of concern highlighted by the reviewers had been satisfactorily addressed and the recommended corrections had been provided. We appreciate the contribution of the referees to our paper and the opportunity of resubmitting the edited article.

Please find attached the revised version of the manuscript and our list of comments on the issues pointed out by the reviewers. We hope that our corrections are appropriate and that the article may now measure up to the standards for publication in _________. We will be happy to make other emendations or give any further explanation you feel necessary to make the manuscript more readable.
