Are you looking for help on the paragraph about your gap? Don't put that on your resume! It is WAY to much information for any propsective employer to hear. Simply mention something about returning to the workforce in your cover letter. 3 years is not something that sounds like "got fired - couldn't find a new job."

Your grammar is fine, but I don't like the "and more so" part. I'm also not sure if you should have a "the" before "clientele." Lastly, I would not capitalize adminstrative/financial.

It's probably just semantics. For me, a cover letter says why I am the the best choice for this position, based on my experience and skills, while a motivation letter says why I want the position. It's all about me and my thoughts, not the company and how I can benefit it.

Start as you've started - just say what is inside of you that makes you want to do this. Refer to the flash movie - saying something like (although use your own words and feelings of course!) "Making movies like the Flash presentation I've attached as a sample of my work is such an enjoyable experience, because I know I have a knack for the technology and it lets me join my creative side to my technical side" -- in other words, refer to the fact that it's there as a sample of the things you enjoy and are good at.

Hi,

Yes, I agree that my summary is too long, Shall I eliminate it and instead write a cover letter? I would just make it shorter and in point form. Think of it as a chance to highlight your strengths.

Is this summary suitable to be a cover letter? You could use parts of it, but focus on the purpose of a cover letter.

Say what job/kind of job you want

Introduce yourself and your skills briefly, in terms of why people should choose you for this job.

Ask for an interview or whatever action you want the agency to take

Do I need a cover letter for a recruiting agency after all? I don't know. I think it's probably a good idea.

What about the rest of CV? I've added a few comments.

There are also books etc. available that give sample CV's for professional people. Have you had a chance to look at such things? You should.

SUMMARY

A highly motivated, determined, and dedicated 29 year old general practitioner (GP) with practical work experience in conducting evidence based medicine during my 16th month compulsory national service, when I was working as a GP in a health clinic handling most aspects of a GP responsibilities. The rest of my internship was in a large medical center in *** city during which we were trained for conducting a wide array of medical skills in all medical disciplines. I understand the value of research in medicine and have always been keen to conduct practical researches to solve some problems of community or bring new treatment to practice, which could be noticed from my research background. I achieved an MSc in Molecular Biology in September *** with emphasis on molecular diagnosis and therapeutics. I also took recombinant DNA and Bioinformatics courses which introduced me to gene expression and structure function relationships of proteins. My ability to follow and up date protocols have enabled me to be disciplined and organised. I have carried out analysis with a range of molecular techniques and I feel confident that I can use other techniques with similar principles such as ELISPOT and Immunohistochemistry detection.

I used PowerPoint, MS word, Excel and other soft ware programs in seminars, debates and course works to make graphs, diagrams, calculations and pictures to discuss, explain and indicate the basis and significance of my work, how it is similar and or different from similar works of other investigators.

I plan, arranged and work around my project meeting tight datelines while comparing my ideas with those of my colleagues and laboratory mates and eager to help whenever possible. I report all observations as it is generated in real time in my laboratory notebook and my progress to my supervisors. This will enable the continuation of similar studies based on my findings as well as the continuation of my work by another person.

The appropriate lengh of the covering letter in the UK

Hi,

is it true that a covering letter for a position in the UK should be very short, not longer than a page (A4) and usually only three paragraphs? I read this yesterday on the net and it confuses me because I have seen short as well as long sample cover letter. Apparently this should be the custom only in the UK and not in Ireland.

1) Thanks for your time and consideration. If you want an advice: drop it. I have seen it in a sample but I don't think it is very helpful.

2)I look forward to hearing from you. In my opinion this is the best ending and I use it all the time. I will be looking implicate you are not quite sure. This is not the appropriate tense, if you are sure. I see no need for 'will be looking'.

3) If you want a better ending insted of 'with a good..': I would welcome the unique opportunity to work as part of your successful team, to benefit from your extensive experience, and to put my training, experience, creativity and enthusiasm into practice for XYZ. Or something like that:-)

4) My social skills are excelent as well as my ability to understand foreign cultures and to adapt to them. Please drop ''people person'', there are other ways to point at your social skills.

5) Sorry but the letter is extravagant and not in a good way. Maybe you should make it more formal and close to the letter they usually receive. Personaly, I don't like the structure. It should have the following structure:

a) Introducing: Why am I writing. 1-2 sentenses.
b) Main Letter: Why am I the wright person for the job/the scholarship. Very important: do not repeat your CV. Use the CV to show, what have you done and your advantages but do not simply repeat the CV. This is a very important distincion.
aa) My education, expirience etc.
bb) My skills.
c) Ending: 1-2 sentenses.

This isn't a motivation letter, more a mix between CV and a letter. The right term is though: cover letter (US)/covering letter (UK).

It would be helpful, if you make a research and see some sample before writing the letter. It this form it is pointless to correct it. The cover letter has a form and you have to stick to this form . This is very important because otherwise it makes a very unprofecional impression like in your case. A law graduate has to know about cover letter. With the present letter your chances for LLM are 0 even if the English is perfect. Sorry, if I am to hard with you but I am trying to help:-)
