That's what I've told my friend but he's still confused and what about his teacher? What should he do? Because his teacher said 'Do you understand me' is incorrect but I don't think so. Do you see any wrong?

Are both of the words correct? I use 'learnt' but sometimes 'learned' not sure which one is better
BUT SUDDENLY I remember 'learned' is an American word! No wonder i keep using 'learnt' as I'm speaking British English So am I correct or...
