Hi Clive,
I wonder whether it's American-folksy, or Pan-American-Canadian-British folksy.

Hi,
Is 'We'd like for you to join us for movie night down at your neighborhood' grammatical?
Does it make a difference with and without 'for' in this sentence?
Why isn't there an artical 'a' before 'movie night'?
The original sentence

Thanks dudes.
It does seem to me that 'surfer dude accent' is some kind of California accent; but Reeves wasn't brought up in California, I wonder how he got it...Anyway.
-
Does ‘surfer dude’ suggest anything else than 'a surfer'? I read this on a messageboard:
‘Keanu Reeves’ biggest drawback has always been his 'surfer dude' sort of accent, but he's toned that down over the years.’

Thanks a lot, GG.

All right I'll try again.
Howdy all,
Doesn't 'Are we clear on this?' mean 'Are you clear on this'? Which means 'I am clear now' is grammartically correct(Is it?). But Barb, I guess nobody says it that way?
-
Nona,
What do you think about 'Are we clear on this'? I might have heard it said by some on-screen drill sergeant or cop offficer before.
-
Hawdy all,
I wonder if it is common that people say 'I am clear now' meaning 'Now I understand';once again I had prayed to the Internet but didn't get an obvious answer on this one. Thanks in advance.
ETA: I meant GOOGLE, not the Internet .

Guys, you've been very helpful. Thanks again.
Can I say:
'I'm not exactly open to any kind of cuisine'?
Also, dishes that are not 'native', can we call them foreign dishes?
