Can any one help me by telling me a good book for English learners to use, when trying to improve their vocabulary to include idioms and colloquilisms

i really need help with the form of the above sentences and tense. As in subject pronoun- verb -past simple tense also i need help in the same way with this sentence: They stopped to talk to each other , and , they stopped talking to each other.

In the sentence - The plane leaves at 10 00 tomorrow. Is this present simple ? + a time marker ? and is it noun verb in present tense+ time marker ?
