I noticed the use of the word "aware" is :
1) He is aware of the situation or they are aware of the situation
Question, why it is not "is awared" or "are awared " in above examples?

For (1) - So the "had" here is refering to the situation rather than the facts that John has 5 siblings and mary has 10 ??
