What's the difference between "day-afterday', day-to-day" and "daily"?
As far as I can think, they all mean much the same thing, it is just how you use them.
Let's have a go and see if it gives the same idea said different ways.
1. Day

It would probably be better to say " I never would have thought of that" or "I have never thought of that".
Which pretty well means the same as "it has never occur ed to me that...", or "it would never occur to me that".

not good in (1) and a little better in (2).
