I agree with you, Woodward. One can experience the real world life if he leads an independent life. I think it all depends on the culture and their literacy. For eg., in the US almost all parents are educated and their culture allows children

Even in India, all girls live with their parents until marriage. The society won't allow us to live independently.

In present world scenario, one will respect a man only if he works. But this is not so in case of woman. If she isn't working, nothing. If she works she will get better respect. Just my 2 cents.
