I have read everything you have written in threads about Russia and you seem like you are way too affected by Russian media - just the impression I got. You seem like a nationalist (well, it's understandable) and dedicated to make us see that Russia is right (understandable again) usually by being sarcastic . In fact, I think Russia was right according to what I read overall (but things are going childishly now). Did this mean my mind was selective for Russian propaganda? If the point of views are same in two different media organs then this just makes things more reliable than before. The truth is truth, if it's subjective then there is no truth.

Re: editing is process...

<<I'm wondering what would happen if someone in the US (or Europe) tried to build communism. However, I think you need to define what 'freedom' is and then what 'freedom of speech' is. Firstly, I will define these according to my own understanding. Freedom does not mean doing what you want (especially when it is not in the individual sense). It means that you have rights in the laws of the country you are living in, those are your freedom. Your freedom is what you are given, what is decided in the laws, and most of...

User profile picture

Uploaded on Friday, August 29, 2008

Re: South Ossetia. Why do humans want to see real things? Because we've got 5 senses.. Why do believing sipiritual things seem so hard to us or most of us? I mean, if God is so almighty and strong and can do everthing, why doesn't he show himself? Yeah.. why doesn't he?? What is the rule or logic behind this? What I have observed from the people who say they don't believe in God is that they want to be convinced strictly by real things. They want to see God. That is not true. It's great that you opened this thread. It's been on my mind for a looooong time. First of all, the world would definitely be a better place without religion. Why? Because many conflicts (war etc.) going on are due to religion. (Not only because of religion I know, but it's a big part of it. Actually, there are conflicts where there are differences. but that's another thing and I have a headache so I cannot philosophize right now..) I thought about why people believe in religion too, and I reached to this conclusion: because they feel better! Yes, they are relieved that in hard situations they are gonna pray as if miracles would happen. When something bad happens, oh there is someone who did that to us! No,...

Re: The 7th of October is "The teacher's day"

Same in here!

Re: What is the last thing you said?

No!

Re: are you a Yahoo! In Turkey, tip is generally expected. In restaurants the service is not included and you are expected to tip 10% of the bill. You don't have to tip of course, I mean nothing happens if you don't (except the negative expression on the waiter's face). However, it is better if to leave a little amount left behind. About hairdresser's: I never do tip, but I have seen some people do. For taxi drivers: I never tip, also I have never seen any one who does that..
If you come here as a tourist, I suggest you to tip in the restaurants, hotels especially (I'm not a tourist but I tip too).. Right amount is the 10%.

Re: are you a Yahoo! lol.. Although I like vegetables, I am not a vegetarian because I feel that I need to eat meat. It's like, you cannot make a lion eat only grass because it is not suitable for its biological stuff. I haven't heard any drawback of being vegetarian, but I know that generally they take some pills. I think getting those minerals by pills is not healthy.

Re: MY PICS!!!

Nice photos! Do you say that we can only eat vegetables and not any meat at all? However, to get some minerals(?) we need to eat certain things.. For example fish, egg (it was gonna be a chicken after all!). Which alternatives are you suggesting? If you say we can get all the minerals in a healthy way apart from meat, I will agree with you and protest killing animals for eating (Are you a vegetarian, btw?)

Re: English bulldog

It looks so funny!

Re: Chinese couple tried to name baby "@

Timbo20 same goes here too, and in Turkish we (%99) call "@" as "at"... how interesting! And you do this properly, I mean that you don't do it in front of hundreds of people watching eagerly and with that funny clothes. I mean you don't turn this killing thing into a show . Also in Bullfighting, you are not in a needy situation. You humiliate that poor animal all of that minutes and kill it slowly.. One sword by one sword (or whatever that thing is called). People watching applausing and screaming (Oh, what a show! Fantastic!). Can you see the difference? Consequences may be the same (both animal will be dead), but the process and reasons should be considered. Hope I could explain what I meant.

Re: MONEY is everything! I am not a smoker, but wherever I go (and I mean everywhere) I have to let smoke in my lungs. I have a right to not smoke and they are violating it. Because of them, my health also gets damaged. And passive smoking considered to be even worse! If I ever go to Spain, you can be sure that I will never ever go to bullfighting. I think it is disgusting and nothing to do with culture.. well, I hope not!
