  • Re: Olympic boycott?

I would have answered all your questions if your attitude wasnn't this childish. I don't have time for school yard name callings. Thanks for the warning, by the way, Gramma Geek. I've decided to stop participating in this thread, so don't worry about the moderating issue....
  • Re: Olympic boycott?

Wow, talking about human rights being crushed like an ant by a gigantic killing machine! If you're against something, you deserve to be killed????? C'mon, do you even comprehend the logic of your argument?
  • Re: Olympic boycott?

You said this, but you state your argument otherwise. What a conflict!
  • Re: Olympic boycott?

This link you provided is interesting,http://www.nytimes.com/2008/04/13/opinion/13forney.html?ref=opinion It has some interesting points that I'd like to point out and be informed if the information is accurate. Educated young Chinese, far from being embarrassed or upset by...

  • Re: Olympic boycott?

I don't know where you come from, but from where I live we called it freedom of speech and the right to protest. Tibetan monks protested in Tibet and what happened to them? Or even further back, Burmese monks protested and what happened to them? Now you can tell the difference between...
  • Re: Olympic boycott?

Athletes are sponsored by different organizations, some belong to the government. Therefore, saying that sports and politics have nothing in common is misleading. The reason that athletes dream to participate in the Olympics because of fame and wealth they would get out of it if they won a...
  • Re: Olympic boycott?

Dew said, But boycotting the Olympic games may look like a dictstorship too.Educate me, please, how is it a dictatorship?
  • Re: Olympic boycott?

I'm not watching the Olympics this year. I'm not an athlete who get sponsored by different private and governmental organizations, so I don't understand how big is the Olympics in a view of an athlete. I'll do what I can do as a view, and not watching it is one.
