Hi
I was searching Lyrics and came across one of your posts in here... I hadn't heard of this group before... Plus, my English is laughable :D Joined just to say: Great! Long time since I saw someone with such intimacy with words and meanings, poetically speaking. All the best

Thanks!
I just read the 'My Last Duchess' thread, and I found your advice incredible!

Continued Confusion
I'm analyzing My Last Duchess for my Lit class, and the only part I'm having problems with is understanding a couple of lines towards the end. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm stumbling on lines 49-51: The Count your master's known munificence Is ample warrant that no just pretense Of mine for dowry will be disallowed; I honestly do not understand what is being said here. The Count is generous, I get that from the text. But what else is being said? Is the Duke implying that his desire to wed the Count's daughter, and his request for a dowry, is just? -Idyll

Thanks
Hi, Iwould just like topersonally thank you for the amount of time and effort that you have put into answering peoples questions, particularly on Robert Browning's "My Last Duchess." I know that it has helped many people in their comprehension of the poem, including myself. Thanks again.
