I am wondering why some of my friends and actors on tv said... for example

"She is a funny."
"She is an amazing."
"It is an interesting."

are these only for slang or what? I asked my teachers about that; they said these are wrong.

I know the adjective rules: adjective + noun and linking verb + adjective.

Hi,

These sentences are wrong.

Perhaps you are not hearing correctly?

Those are all okay if there is a NOUN after them.

You are funny. You are a funny girl.
He is lonely. He is a lonely old man.
She is happy. She is a happy person.

oh yes. you're right. i am definitely deaf. I guess hearing people must speak just slang setences, right?
Vicente P. Teng II"She is a funny."
"She is an amazing."
"It is an interesting."
These sentences are very strange. They are not correct, but they are not common mistakes or any kind of slang I have ever heard of. Either your friends have very unusual speech patterns, or you have misunderstood what they are saying.

There's no need to be sarcastic to Clive -- he gave you a perfectly polite and reasonable answer.

I don't understand "the adjective rules" you refer to, or what they have to do with your examples.

Not wrong, but highly exceptional in style. These are examples of an instance in English that allows a/an + adjective as a noun with generic reference (usually to human beings), so it can be roughly glossed as 'Adj person', or in the last one 'Adj thing'. I would use quotes around the adjectives to denote the unusual use: She is a "funny", She is an "amazing".
