Hi,

one word consists of 4 alphabets and the hint is "Pat and Vanna's boss"

Merv (Griffin). 4 letters, not 4 alphabets.

Sorry, I don't have time for the others right now.

Good luck, Clive
"edge a doily" could be "tat."
Teachers: We supply a list of EFL job vacancies
Dawn goddess could be Nut
sonnet cousin - "ode"?
potpie veggie = PEA

edge a doily = TFT

Sahib' s place = INDIA

Conquistador's quest = (could be) ORO (from the Spanish word for GOLD)

Good Luck

Dear Anonymous -- the original poster was working on this crossword puzzle two years ago!! Do you think he is still looking for answers? (And by the way -- what is TFT??? If it's a typo for TAT, that answer was already suggested two years ago.)
Sorry; I didn't mean to offend anyone with any sort of ego problems...

I was looking for a clue on Google and I opened one of the links, which pointed to this thread/topic. I didn't pay attention to the date, to be honest, while I just wanted to help someone in need. If that offended you in any way, please let me know, since now you know where you can find me - I registered. I apologize for trying to help... Tks.

P.S. By the way:

- TFT was a typo, as the clue is TAT

- when I opened the link that particular answer (post) didnt appear in the string for some reason, otherwise I wouldn't have been stupid to re-list an answer for it
