Hello

I liked the name The Hype. But it was the name of a punk group in our heads, and it was clear that wasn’t where we were going.

--- What does he mean by saying "in our heads". Does it mean that they associated the name The Hype with punk groups, or was there a real punk group who called themselves The Hype.

Paul had an air of confidence about him. One of his great gifts is he makes something normal by saying it. An idea that seems difficult to envision becomes possible because he’s talking about it.

--- I'm not sure I understand the second sentence?

Paul was taking the first demos around with mixed success.

--- take around, does it mean that he was showing them (demo tapes) to different people and they weren't much success?

Thanks

It think that the speaker is a singer / performer and is talking about the past. He / she was thinking about forming a punk rock band, and imagined "The Hype" for the band's name. But when he / she thought more about it, the idea did not agree with what he /she really wanted to do.

Paul has a very good talent for describing something that does not yet exist. He can make that something appear real.
Demo tapes - yes, you understand the meaning.
Hi

so, can it mean (But it was the name of a punk group in our heads, and it was clear that wasn’t where we were going.) that he was thinking of forming a punk group (which he wanted to call The Hype), but later changed his mind?

He changed his mind about forming the punk group. Punk music was not what he wanted to do.
Thank you very much!
