suggested letter (for a friend but you can change it):

This letter is to support the parole of (name, prison number)

I have known (name) for (# or several) years, as we both (fill in how you
know him).

I am convinced that (name), when released, will be a valuable contributing
member of society. He is bright, anxious to help others and has shown to be
a leader when counselling others in regard to non-violence and personal matters. (or you make this relevant to the individual) He has worked dilligently to make a change in himself, and continually tries to help those around him.

In my opinion, I think it is important th (name) will have a network of support and resources when he is release (from where -- go into detail).

I know that he has changed a great deal in the years of incarceration. He has
taken many courses (or whatever) His training in substance abuse therapy and alternatives of violence programs have been helpful to those who have looked to him for help and advice inside prison, and will be helpful to the greater community outside prison (or whatever) . As mentioned above, I know he is bright and works hard to achieve his goals (or make this relevant to the individual)

This is just a rough draft - you need to tailor it to the individual inmate.
hope this is a little helpful (I need some help too!)

your date have past before i could read this are i would have help you. hope you got the help and good luck did the person get his parole if so that great. send something back iam though the same thing.

Try getting everyone from his imediate family to write a letter to the parole board. And tell them why they should let your husband out on parole and how it is affecting you all. Also in what way will you help him when he gets parole. That's what the parole officer told me.
There is an EXECELLENT Parole Petition service we used at www.parolepetitions.com
they are a Christian business ran by people who have or have had family in prison. We paid a "Parole Attorney" over $4500.00 to do a petition for us that didn't help at all and wasn't anything special, yet paid parolepetitions.com only $450.00 for a MUCH nicer prison which DID get our son home!! We HIGHLY recommend this service!!
just state you r name your occupation and what you will do for him or her when they get released

Hi. My name is Melissa, and I'm kind of in the same position, only, I'm going to write a letter for my boyfriend to send to the parole board. He isn't good with words, but I know what's in his heart. I don't know why your relative is in jail or the pen, or if he/she is a good person. If this relative is a person with a good-heart who just made and or made mistakes, then speak from the heart. That is what I'm going to write them. My boyfriend has a good-heart; just made bad choices in life. The letter must be formal though, but yet personable. I wish you the best on this. You will do it right. Have a good-night.
