This is our strange story
No beginning, no end
This never ending journey
Of my life
Where does it go from here
I never understood yesterday
Nor did you today.
With the twilight of compassion
The smoke from loving heart
Has awakened too
Is that the smoke
From the lamp
Or is my heart burning?
I dream a dream
That I have woken up
From all cherished dreams.
Walking down the aisle
With someone you love
You will step into
A new world today.
But whenever the sun sets
I will remember you
And our faded love too.
May the showers of blessings
be bestowed on you.
As you are The jewel
Of someone’s heart now
And mine is left a broken glass.
You are now so close to someone
That you have walked away
From everyone else
From me and my love too.
Hello Anita!

That has some interesting effects. Is the original written in quatrains, or some other form?

Here are a few thoughts:
__________________________
I never understood yesterday
Nor did you today.
— I'm not sure of the meaning here; is it 'I didn't understand yesterday, and you don't understand today'?

With the twilight of compassion
— could this be 'in the twilight...'

The smoke from loving heart
— perhaps 'from a loving heart'

Has awakened too
— 'has awakened' I don't quite get; has the smoke awoken 'something', or just 'awoken'?

Walking down the aisle
— is 'aisle' a direct equivalent of the original?

As you are The jewel
Of someone’s heart now
— maybe 'someone else's heart'.

And mine is left a broken glass.
— is it 'a glass', or 'broken glass'?

See you later,
MrP
Actually this is not a word to word translation as that didn't seem proper. What you see is my version of it with the meaning intact. But for your ready reference, I'll post that too and then maybe you can help me better. Thanks Mr.P.

And the original is of the form, abcb,defe... I didn't get that though..

This is a peculiar story
Where does it start and where does it end?
What kind of destinations are these?
He could not understand, neither could I.

Taking someone’s love, you
Will settle in a new world
Whenever this evening will come
I’ll remember you

Why ,with this light
Did smoke rise from the lamp?
Am I seeing a dream
Or have I woken up from a dream?

Congratulations to you, that you
Have become someone else’s glory
You are so close to someone
That you have gone far from everyone (else)

Well, I think this word-for-word translation is pretty good, Anita!

MrP
Really? You mean it, Mr.P?
Very much so! Do you mind if I add a little punctuation, and make a couple of small changes, to bring out the meaning? e.g.

I like that a lot. The tone and the choice of words are very nicely managed.

Thanks Mr.P. That was very nice of you. Maybe I should try more translations...
It's good practice! And if they're as good as this one, it'll be well worth the effort.
