Hi All

I have a weird situation.
I know the word in my language but i can't find it in english.
I needed it in presentation of my graduation project.
But i could not found it.

I will try to explain it.
If you find the word, please let me know.

Imagine a pipe.
And water, a liquid material or any gas is passing through the pipe.
But somewhere on the pipe there is a small hole.
The material which is passing through the pipe is streaming out.

What do we call the situation in english?
What do we call the hole on the pipe?
Please tell me

There are some pictures describing the situation

Usually we'd say "a small hole," just as you have, but in the diagram, it looks like it's not properly sealed.

If you look up "seal" is that the right word?

The liquid or gas is leaking out through the hole. If it's under pressure, you could say "escaping."

SaltukhanThank you Grammar Geek

I think the words i was looking for are "leak" and " gas leaking"

Thank you for your help
You used that word in your text.

And, in the case of gas, the sound it probably makes is a hissing. [hssss]
