Can you please tell me better way to say: These areas are visited above the average during that period of the year.

Perhaps something with degree/number of visits?

These areas received an above average number of visits during the summer of 2001 (or whatever period it was).

These areas receive an above average number of visits during that period of year.

Or, depending on the idea being emphasised:

These areas, during that period of the year, are visited by more than the average number of tourists [in other areas?].

Or,

During that period of the year, these areas are visited by more tourists than what the average is [for other parts of the year?]
