Hi, please adivse whether sentence (a) or (b) is correct:

(a) Some goals have been well surpassed and some need to be caught up with.

(b) Some goals are well surpassed and some need to catch up with.

The above should be applied in the context of reporting to members that some sales figures of ABC Co. have been reached an even overdone it and some are behind the targets. I am confused whether the word "surpassed" and "catch" should be used in active or passive voice.

remember to use the passive when you are interested in 'What happened', rather then 'Who or What did it' active.
