Please help me to understand the usage of preposition against here in what circumstances like this I can use it?

This is all written in "Idian English". We don't really say it that way in standard English.

For me, in BrE, the word "against" in itself works OK. It means that when you write one of the cheques, the money will be drawn from the said account. Other parts of the letter are very redolent of Indian English.

So what would be the suitable word against "against" according to Clive. And is there any other circumstances like this where am I supposed to use this?
