Benita is correct. It makes sense, of course, to use the singular, but we just don't do it. Why? Because.

Hi all

In Helsinki English Emotion: smile we use the singular when the noun can't be used in the plural:in all kinds of weather, and with many uncountable nouns as well: all kinds of beer.

Oh heavens, CB - don't open the "weather" can of worms again!

Apparently BrE does say "all kinds of weathers." But AmE uses the singular (like you). "All kinds of weathers" sounded so wrong to me that I thought it WAS wrong - it never occurred to me at the time that it was another of the across-the-pond variations. I'll need all kinds of beer (except that watery American stuf) to get over it if it comes up again!
