Asada said she is happy that she could land 2 triple axels in her program. She added that she hopes her rivalry with Kim, also her age, will continue to stimulate both skaters.

Does 'also her age' mean 'who is the same age of her'?

If so, is this way common?

Thanks.

Asada and Kim are the same age. It is not an unusual expression.

Liveinjapan who is the same age of her as she
(My preference. The "as" is required. The "she" is optional. I think Huevos would call it wrong.)

I agree with A. Stars about "also her age."

Thanks, A.Stars and Avangi.
Understand.

What I wrote (the same age of her) is terrible. Thanks for correction, Avangi. Emotion: big smile
