I live in India. Trust me this isn't a place to come to(well right now, i guess). It is lenient towards women. There are no proper rights for men. For example if a man badmouths or abuses a woman he'll be arrested. And if a woman does the same thing she does'nt get any punishment and she'll be left roam the streets scot free. Some feminist groups and women's group would cry that it is a carefully constructed conspiracy to degrade women in the society. Media also plays its dirty part by raising irrelavant issues. Media in India is biased towards men. Any who lives in India or watches Indian news channels would agree with me(some would'nt). Feminist groups do their work for their own political needs(they should be banned if you ask me). My complaints could go on endlessly. I would have loved to go on but I have my problems. I can't express my properly and smoothly in English. I wish I knew a way to get better. Can anyone help me.

Hi Anon,

I live in India, too;however, I disagree with your point that India is not a good place to visit or live. What kind of help you need? Have you ever been victimized by abuse of women? Please let us know, so that we can further discuss this topic.
Don't you think women and men should be equal.

Yes, by all means. I am not sure if the original(poster) Anon is questioning me or a new Anon is asking a new question? Which Anon are you?Emotion: smile So, that I can answer accordingly.
I'm the original poster of this thread.

Hi Anon,

Here I am, again, on this topic. First of all, the constitution of India treats both men and women equally. Historically, women have been considered as weaker sex ,and men have been considered as strong sex; the difference is not based on skill levels, but based on physical abilities. If we look back into the history of the world, the number of cases in which women being abused by men was always more than the number of cases in which men being abused by women. Hence, the law enforcement authorities and media tend to give priority to women than men in the case of abuse, and the idea of 'priority' changes from country to country based on culture, too. However, this doesn't mean that men should be given low priority, but it has been a long practice.

Equally, my main point, therefore, is that just because a few bad incidents, we should not conclude India is not a good place to live or visit. Besides, if you don't want to live in India, would you be kind enough to say which country you would like to live? Honestly, IMHO, there is no country in this world that is free from such domestic complaints.
I hope you are somehow convinced, Anon. Please feel free to ask further questions.
I don't know about anyone else but I was brought up in an evironment where girls and boys were and are treated equally. I'm sure there are laws in India for physical or verbal abuse. If a man is abused by a woman I'm sure you could go to a women's police station and complain there. And I'm sure that both men and women are equally cruel and evil. Maybe few media houses are biased towards men. And there isn't much media can do too. There are laws in India; like degredation of women and or showing women in bad light which prevent media people from printing or showing crimes commited by women. What can they do? They have to save their neck too, right. But I have to agree with you on one thing and that is media being biased. They talk about freedom of speech but they don't dare to print or show anything which displeases their boss or their community(media itself). If they had that much guts I'm sure you would'nt had to write anything like this.
