1. Explain how the policy of appeasement contributed to the outbreak of the Second World War.

Great Britain and France had held onto the policy of granting concessions to an aggressor in the hope of preventing a war since the 1930’s. To come to a peaceful ground with Germany had been the hope all along, however, no one suspected the evil plans Hitler would soon come up with. The policy of appeasement, though looked at positively in the beginning, caused the eruption of three major European crises.

Is this a good intro??!!? Please help....I'm in History 12. The last sentence is my thesis.
Hi, Miss O

You would get more response if you posted this in the writing world section instead of the Legal English & scientific sections. Emotion: smile
Hi MissO,

My 2 cents -- a little simplistic. Remember that those two countries were having a real tough time after WWI and the Great Depression. Naturally, they wanted to focus on domestic problems.

Again, just my 2 cents.

Since the 1930's, Great Britain and France had held onto the policy of granting concessions to an aggressor in the hope of preventing a war since the 1930’s. To come to a peaceful AGREEMENT with Germany had been the hope all along, THOUGH no-one suspected the the evil inhumanity of Hitler's plans. Though initially regarded as a positive move, the policy of appeasement caused the eruption of three major European crises.
Hi,

Give the intro., I'd expect an explanation of the three crises in the following paragraphs. Am I right in my assumption?
I would assume so also, Julie
