This is not actually my homework. I just came across this question on my mind while writing a post here.
I'm thinking of using the plural forms "them" and "those" because of two referants: clarification and assistance. However, I do not know which is better between these two and their difference.
On the other hand, I think the singular forms "it" and "that" are also possible because what is really appreciated is the response which includes the clarification and assistance. Again, if these are the answers, what is the difference between "it" and "that" in the sentence?
Also, which would be most natural?
