Are both definitions, according to the given examples, correct? Is one more accurate than the other?
a) We use the definite article "the" before a noun that refers to specific single objects or specific groups of objects.
b) We use the definite article "the" before a noun that refers to unique single objects or unique groups of objects.
Eg.
The earth.
The moon.
The sun.
The sky.
The stars.
