Are 'enable,' 'assess,' 'catch,' 'face,' and 'during' correctly used in my sentences?

1. Boss Ben conducted an activity that would enable him to know us employees better and assess our communication skills. He wore a smile that could easily catch our attention.
2. My professor forgot to ask us students to face the class during recitation.

RommelBoss Ben

That's unnatural. You need something like "My boss".
