Hi

What does "as" mean?

Does "will" refer to future?

"We will use asymptotic notation primarily to describe the running times of algorithms, as when we wrote that insertion sort’s worst-case running time is ‚.n2/."

What does "as" mean? for example

Does "will" refer to future? Yes. But the verb wrote refers to the past, so the two verbs don't fit correctly.

Say eg "We will use asymptotic notation primarily to describe the running times of algorithms, as when we write that insertion sort’s worst-case running time is ‚.n2/."

or eg "We have used asymptotic notation primarily to describe the running times of algorithms, as when we wrote that insertion sort’s worst-case running time is ‚.n2/."

Thanks a lot CJ Emotion: smile

So are the sentence wrong because the tenses of verbs are different?

Yes. you need to use one of my two examples, depending on what you mean.

In example #1, you are explaining what you will do.

In example #2, you are explaining what you have done.
