I saw a bumper sticker today with the following text ... scholar is more holier than the blood of the martyr."holier."

(possible correct translations)
Any of which would probably sound better, yet make for a far less ironical bumper sticker.

"The ink of the scholar is stainier than the blood of the martyr."

"Inside a Scholar, it's too dark for a Martyr to read."
Mark Edwards

Unfortunately, Chinese doesn't write any vowels either.

It's always comforting to find that Einstein's comment on the infinitude of human stupidity is daily being confirmed. A language which is not written using an alphabet very likely "writes with" neither vowels nor consonants.

I'm not sure about a recipe, but it is pretty easy to locate one of the raw ingredients by listening for its characteristic mating call: "gobble, google".

Wrong recipe...it's "search engine, turkey." If you leave out that one ingredient, you get turkey jerky.
