Hi folks,

The situation is something like this. I've been referred to a job in company A, where I get to work with the team of a dept B's Head C. I've been referred as a potential candidate by the relative of this Mr. C. I've had interviews and stuff, and Mr. C is willing to recruit me into his team, but pay scale and stuff is being decided by HR, of I've had negotiation with Mr. C and the last converstaion we've had on phone is that he'd get back after discussing with HR.

Now I want to write him a mail instead of giving him a ring, I'm kinda clueless how to go about it. The tone should be respectful and something like, don't want to disturb you but it's kinda urgent and stuff. Any suggestions would be really helpful.

Hi,

Try this. Write what you would say if you were talking to him face to face. Then show us, for suggestions.

My advice it to keep it quite brief.

Dear Clive,

I've actually tried to write my own before posting, but wasn't content with what I had. All I need is just a couple of lines I guess. Anyway, here goes.

Dear Mr. C,

I've been meaning to contact about the offer, and I'm writin this mail regarding the same. Please let me know if there's any update, so that I can get started on the notice process of resignation from my side.

Sincere Regards,

Dear Mr. C,

I am very grateful for all your assistance regarding my employment. I am very keen to start working for A, so I hope you do not mind if I ask whether you have heard back yet from the HR department.

Thank you once again for your help.

Yours sincerely,

Clive
Dear Clive,

Just what I've been looking for, many thanks for your help. Whenever I asked a question here re: letter writing, I've always got exactly what I needed, for which I'm very thankful.

I hope you don't mind if I ask, how do I go about developing in this. I am learning this stuff as the necessity comes along. I'd like to know if there's any resource where I probably can find loads of sample letters, something like that.

Thank you once again!

Hi,

Try Google. There seem to be plenty of sites around.

If you wish, you can write short letters and post them here for us to check.
