Hi
I made some sentences, but I am not sure whether they are right or not.
If you find something wrong in Grammar or vocabulary, help me check them.
Thank you very much.

1. Most workers are devoted most of their time to performing their tasks in order to get promotion and amass a great fortune in the competitive job market at the expense of the opportunities of meeting the opposite sex.

2. Most workers are devoted most of their time to performing their tasks in order to get promotion and amass a great fortune in the competitive job market. This might lose many opportunities of meeting the opposite sex.

Which sentence is clear?

3. Lin Hwai Min has a real talent for creating beautiful dance performances that conceal/ hide many connotative meaning most people can understand.

Which word conceal or hide can work in the above sentence?

4. The purpose of science is not merely limited to confirm something/ to confirmation.

I am not sure how to use "be limited to noun or verb.''

Hi,

1. Most workers devote most of their time to performing their tasks, in order to get promotion and amass a great fortune in the competitive job market, at the expense of opportunities to meet.

2. Most workers devote most of their time to performing their tasks, in order to get promotion and amass a great fortune in the competitive job market. This causes them to lose many opportunities of meeting the opposite sex.

Which sentence is clear? Both are OK. Perhaps #2 is simpler.

3. Lin Hwai Min has a real talent for creating beautiful dance performances that conceal/ hide many connotative meaning which most people can understand.

Which word conceal or hide can work in the above sentence? Both seem a bit odd to me. If people can't see his/her meaning,is that a good thing or a bad thing? The sentence seems unclear to me.

4. The purpose of science is not merely limited to confirmation.

I am not sure how to use "be limited to noun or verb.'' Use the noun form, because you are contrasting it to the noun phrase 'purpose of science'.

Best wishes, Clive

Hi,

1.Lin Hwai Min has a real talent for creating beautiful dance performances that have many connotative meanings most people can not understand. Good. Except I recommend 'connotations' rather than connotative meanings'.

2. The purpose of science is not merely limited to confirmation. Good. I think it would be a bit better to say simply science is not merely limited to confirmation.

Best wishes, Clive
