Is the expression correct?

Cuz I often hear people saying "self-diagnose" and others alike, but am wondering wether this one's correct

because the "figure-out" involved's already hyphenated.

And how do you call this type of verbs? Hyphenated verbs?(Yeah, yuck it up, cuz I made it up myself!)

Hi.

They're called compound verbs, I think.

In this particular case, it would be better to say "figure out by yourself" or "figure out on your own".

"Self-figure-out" isn't a phrase that native speakers would use, but you would probably be understood if you used it.

Hope this helps.

Yes, "figure it out by yourself" is something I'd say, too.

I just wanted to know if that was even correct.
