The first is the best, and it's the only one I would use as a chapter title.

How about this one: "The dead strange ways of communicating" Does it sound awkward?
It's very awkward. It doesn't even say what you want to say.

You're saying that the ways are dead. Emotion: smile (dead strange ways = dead ways and strange ways)
