The most legendary festival I think is Moon-Festival. First, the legend about this festival. It is said that a long time ago, there are ten suns in the sky,but they came out by turns so they won't bother people. But for unknown reason, ten suns started to arise at the same time. And it's very hot every day and farmers in China can't cultivate anything because all grain is withered to death.People suffered and starved. A hero called Ho-Yi sympathized poor people, and decided to help them.Ho-Yi was an exellent archer,he could shoot an arrow powerfully and precisely.So...........he shot nine suns down, only left one.(legend!) People in China were so gratiful and acclamed Ho-Yi emperor. But,after being an emperor,Ho-Yi lost his kindly heart,he became a tyrant. What's worse,he obtain a magical pill which can keep him immortal . His wife,Chang-E,is a beautiful and merciful woman, she knew that if Ho-Yi became immortal, this land would became forever chaos. In a full moon night, she sneaked to Ho-Yi's storehouse and found out that magical pill then swollowed it. Suddenly, she felt her body became lighter and lighter, and eventually left the ground and flew.People on the ground saw beautiful Chang-E flew higher and higher toward the round full moon, finally disappeared.People respected her and in memory of Chang-E on this date--which is known as Moon-Festival--every year by worshiping the moon and goddess Chang-E. Nowadays, people in China understand that there is no goddess on the moon, but still have a costum to celebate Moon-Festival.On Moon festival, the moon is the roundest among whole year, every faimily member will go back to his hometown and have a family reunion.Family members get together, enjoy special moon-cakes and admire the full moon. For Chinese, this festival symbolizes that the moon is perfect, and the family is perfect. That's something I know about Moon-Festival.Emotion: smile
