Dear all:

A person is drunk after drinking some wine. What is the is Adjective to describe the state of that person after having no alchohol effects?

1) He's been drunk but now he is conscious

2) He's been drunk but now he comes around.

3) He's been drunk but now he is awaken.

Which one is correct? if none , what is the right adjective? I remember something like " SOMBER" , is it correct?

Many thanks

The adjective you are looking for is "sober". If you want to say that someone has become less drunk, you can say that the person has "sobered up".

- He was drunk but now he is sober.
- He was drunk but now he has sobered up.

All of your sentences suggest that the person was more than simply drunk. The person was so drunk that he had actually passed out. A drunk who wakes up after passing out for a short time will most likely still be drunk.
