The first sentence means you did something yesterday - to completion. And you're going to do the same thing today - again, to completion.

The second sentence is not right. It should be something like one of the following:

I'm going to continue with what I was doing yesterday.

I'm going to continue what I was doing yesterday.

The second sentence means you were doing something yesterday - and it was not completed. And you're going to pick up where you left off yesterday on it.
