YOU CAN'T LOOK AT THE WORLD AND SEE WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH 15.000 NEW INFECTIONS EVERY DAY AND 8.000 DEATHS EVERY DAY: THAT WE CAN JUST SIT BACK AND BE OBLIVIOUS AND NOT RESPOND.

THAT WE CAN JUST SIT BACK AND BE OBLIVIOUS AND NOT RESPOND: this sentence is not in contradictory with first one (that is: YOU CAN'T LOOK AT THE WORLD AND SEE ...)

my gold intentions!

Hi,

you can't look at the world and see what's happening with 15.000 new infections every day and 8.000 deaths every day: that we can just sit back and be oblivious and not respond.

it says first in the sentence "you can't look at...." after that says "that we can just sit back and be ollivious and not respond" these two sentences are not opposite each other?

In other words, can you write same idea in the sentence with different words

The sentence is not structured correctly.

You can't look at the world and see what's happening, with 15,000 new infections and 8,000 deaths every day, and then just sit back and be oblivious, and not respond.

Best wishes, Clive
