Hi,
Jane had paid for the meal before I got my money out.

The meal had been paid for by Jane before I got my money out. Natural.

The meal had been paid for by Jane before my money had been got out. Odd and unnatural.

The initial sentence itself is not quite correct.

Children is already plural which means that no -s is needed

-s isn't needed in the verb as well since the subject is in the plural

i.e. Children make mistakes in (an article?) dark place.

Did you mean that? Or maybe this "make" is a noun? Emotion: thinking

Do you want it to be converted into passive voice?

Then it will be "Mistakes are made by children in (an article) dark place"
