Hello,

I want to know the cost of some items while I am at market. How to ask a question about the cost of an article.

1.How much does it cost?

2.How much does it?

What are the other ways to ask the same?

Hi,

1.How much does it cost? OK. Usually, we'd say 'this' instead of 'it', since the item is near us.

2.How much does it? No, wrong. Say How much does this cost?

What are the other ways to ask the same? The commonest way would be to say How much is this, please?

You can, but it sounds a bit abrupt and therefore impolite. How much is this? How much is this one?

Can I say "How much?" if this article is in my hand?
