Hi Zhufen,

Just be yourself and don't try too hard. Girls can always tell if a boy is "desperate", and that's seriusly unattractive! try getting to know girls as friends first, and mix with lots of people, both boys and girls. Go to group situations, parties, social gatherings etc, but just to meet people, not necessarily to "find a girlfriend"

As you become more accustomed to the company of groups of people your age, you may gradually overcome your shyness. Emotion: smile

20 is very young - youve got years and years of life in you (proabably a good 65 years left) so don't start to panic! take your time, and things will get easier for you.
Don't try to impress a girl by telling her about yourself - you impress a girl by taking a genuine interest in her. Ask a question and really listen to what she says, then you can take it on further into a real conversation. Don't make it a random interrogation though, try to find some sort of flow from topic to topic.

Just try and relax, smile and be friendly.

Remember that a lot of the girls will be just as nervous and shy as you so will be grateful for a kind and relaxed approach to make them feel more at ease.

be honest and talk to them in a very kind way.I think all of them need it.
Could you tell me how to make a girlfriend?

I'm assuming it's not the Frankenstein way...
Just add a couple of legs and arms, stitch them together with a head and the main body part. Throw in some internal organs and let it simmer for a while. A couple of lightening bolts may come in handy.

Zhufengping,
I think the more you worry about it, the less likely you are NOT to have a girlfriend. Be yourself and let her be herself. As one of ladies mentioned above, LISTEN to them, and pay interest in what they have to say.

Hi Guest,

as you are asking exactly the same question as zhufengping, perhaps you should read the replies. Emotion: smile
I think it's important to work on yourself. In a sense that you have your own field of interests, like hobbies, music, sports even eductaion etc. It builds self-esteem and self respect. Once you have that, nothing else matters. They will all be yours.Emotion: smile)
Moreover, you might find somebody who has the same interests as you do. Then, for start, you will at least have something to talk about, and you wouldn't feel so insecure.
P.s. key words are: self-esteem, self-respect, self-confidence, be a man:)
(Once you have that, you can be ugly as a sin but it will work:) )
When refused by girls, don't stick to those who refused you (if I understood your question correctly). Just, move on. But usually, you can see if the girl is interested, right away. Avoid putting yourself in situations in which you will be refused. It takes some time and experience to recognize those situations. I hope you are not one of those guys who just don't know when is the time to stop, if you know what I mean. Respect yoursef!
p.s.
Has anyone seen Magnolia? There's an interesting role played by Tom Cruise. I see it as a parody of the masculinity and self-confidence. It would fit nicely in this conversation, although in a bit of obscure and wierd way
