How can I rewrite these sentences using the given forms so that they retain their original meaning:
1.It wasn't Tom that you saw in the department store, for sure.
It couldn't................................................................................
2.If I were you, I wouldn't tell anybody about the discovery.
You had...................................................................................

Can you give it a try first?

Your teacher must think you have very good English, because he/she has given you a difficult exercise to do.

Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?
I have found these exercises myself. I am working on my GE. I am a teacher in Iran, and I have been teaching for about 8 years, but I still feel the need to update my knowledge. I didn't have time to search for the possible answers last night, I answered 8 items correctly, but I doubt about these two!:
It couldn't be Tom that you saw in the restaurant.
You had better not to tell anyone about your discovery.
Are they correct?!:D
It couldn't have been Tom that you saw in the department store, for sure.

You had better not tell anybody about the discovery, in my opinion
Thank you Clive!
