Could anyone, please explain why some posts are deleted without mentioning it in an 'edited' footnote?

For example, today I've asked BillJ a very much legitimate question which appeared on the forum but was deleted later so I doubt whether addressee could even read it.

The post in question is:

That thread seems to contain both your question and Bill's response. What is missing?

I'm not the one who asked the original question. I put my question concerning a noun phrase cited by the responder, which is missing. What I can say more is that the responder's answer was changed 2 times at least without the 'Edited' notification.

Ah, sweet mysteries of life!

Mister MicawberAh, sweet mysteries of life!

Thank you for the answer.

I'd rather name them as bittersweet ones.
