This may be a wild and crazy idea, but the correct name for the "USA" or "America" should surely be "Central North America", or "Cenora" (pr. "sennra" or "sinnora") for short. This would be an accurate description of its location.
The current name is unsatisfactory: all nations consist of provinces or states which are, by definition, "united"; and America refers nominally to the entire Americas (North, South and Central), not to just one part.

Ergo, "Cenora" makes more sense than "America" or the "USA". People who live there would be called Cenoras or Cenorans.

Hah, there's a Sonora not too far from where I live. I've stayed overnight there (on a skiing trip).
