Context: Trying to succeed/win even if it is difficult in any situation.

If we are determined, we can succeed/we can win. This sentence is grammatical but the construction is a bit awkward. There are couple of ways to express the core meaning.

In order to succeed, one must have determination.

To fulfill one's dreams,he must be determined.

Fulfillment is the fruit of perseverance

If we persist, we can succeed/we can win.

Which one is suitable either "succeed' or "win' and "are determined" or "persist"?

These two words are synonyms of each other. Distinguishing them will be like splitting hair. This is how I would see them.

Determination relates to the mental aspiration, a strong commitment.

Persistence / Perseverance relates to one's attitude and resolve.
