Hi again Emotion: smile

I want to inquire about a confusing thing

If the following order of actions happened in a story:

( a woman rose from her bed, then went to her kids' bed ,then kissed them one after the other, then packed some clothes then opened the door, and finally stepped outwards to the darkness)

So,does the following sentences express the same idea in a good Englih or not:

" One night, she rose from her bed and went to the kids'. Kissing them one after the other, she packed some of their close-fitting clothes, then opened the door and stepped outwards to the darkness."

And, of course,Thank you in advance
Hi,

Generally speaking, this is not bad, but it sounds a little like the kissing and the packing were done at the same time. I suggest this.

"One night, she rose from her bed and went to the kids'. She kissed them one after the other, packed some of their close-fitting clothes, opened the door and stepped outwards to the darkness."

Best wishes, Clive

One night, she rose from her bed and went to the kids' rooms. After kissing them one after the other, she packed some of their close-fitting (do you mean "warm clothes" here?) clothes, then opened the door and stepped outwards into the darknes.
