I vote for cats! I love all animals but I have a soft spot for cats; there's only one thing I don't like about them: sharp claws. I love their soft fur, their sweet voices, the way they play with dangling stringEmotion: smile ....

My cat welcomes me excitedly whenever I arrive home, and cries out for me when I'm not there. She is a stereotypical cat in some ways (she loves sleeping and lazing about), but she's not a solitary creature; she lovescompany. Look how cute she is Emotion: big smile :

Dogs are very sweet, I love them too, but they have what I like to call a "doggie smell", which I really can't stand! Poor things!

Both have their good and bad points, but since cats wash themselves and don't need to be taken out for walks, I prefer having them as pets.
I dont know why anyone would like to have a cat as a pet. They serve no purpose to humans and make lousy pets. The only reason why they stick around is because they have food and water. Haven't you heard of dogs being mans best friend? They help us hunt, sniff out drugs, chase bad guys, find people trapped in an avalanche and can also sniff out certain cancers. While on the other hand, cats are sitting at home licking themselves and taking advantage of of their human providers without the human realizing it. So in other words, DOGS RULE SUPREME!

@Henrietta: This cat is so green!
@others:
Cats and dogs are animals. But they don't have so many equal bodily parts. Do you know what I want to say?
For me, this question is like this: Do you like the fishes or the birds? Dogs and cats aren't the same thing.
I know that dogs and cats are a "team" by the most people, but for me, they are more or less complet different "things".
So I like cats because they are kindly (most), and I like dogs to do sport, to play for hours and hours, with the cats it is in a short time over, and as house minder.

I hope you understood what I want to say.
I dont know why anyone would like to have a cat as a pet. Dogs are loyal and cats are lazy. Cats dont serve any purpose to humans. While dogs help us hunt, sniff out drugs, chase bad guys, find people trapped in an avalanche, help blind people get around, sniff out certain cancer and they even make great companions. What great things can you say about cats? Nothing! They are just busy sitting at home while they use their owners to get food and shelter. In other words, cats' suck and DOGS RULE SUPREME!

OK that's also true. The cats don't give someone help or something like this.
Students: Are you brave enough to let our tutors analyse your pronunciation?
no way. true the cats are the intelectual oen but would you like to be ruled by a selfish cat then a good loyal dog.

dogs rule end of story.
It's so evident that dogs rule that the question is just rhetorical, isn't it?

And don't tell me that cats are smarter. Could a cat do all the things that a dog can be trained to do?

Dogs' superiority is a fact. End of discussion.

HitchhikerI vote dogs; they actually 'love' you more than food (most of the time). Some dogs won't eat if they miss their owner. Show me a cat that would do that.

Cats are wild animals, who do not choose to live with you. If they are in your house it's because:

a) You won't let them out
b) They want food and shelter.
I completely agree... That's why I love dogs... Emotion: big smile
