James has never forgotten his first night on the job at the Olive Garden it was a disaster. Christi who had been assigned to train him asked him to take beverage to a table of four and she left to take another order. Carefully James drew coffee from the large urn on the counter in the back and looked around in confusion where was the tea? He saw a large refrigerator in the tray assembly area, he thought he might the tea there. The refrigerator contained salad spaghetti sauce ravioli and tiramisu James thought to himself, “ It looks like someone forgot to take their dinner home.” Not distracted for long, James withdrew from the refrigerator a large, heavy jug of brown liquid and he poured a tall glassful over ice. He felt self sufficient and proud, he garnished the glass with a lemon slice and took the beverages to the table. As he walked away from the table, the customer called him back and said, “ Are you trying to kill me?” James cautiously sniffed the brown liquid and drew back in honor, it was vinegar. James apologized, and explained that it was his first night on the job to his relief, the man at the table began to laugh. James thought, “ I guess I’ll laugh about this someday but it wont be today.”
